Life Review: The Name Remains the Same

It would seem vaguely incestuous to date someone with the same last name as me.

I'm just saying that, hypothetically speaking (yeah, yeah, hypothetically... that's it) I had the opportunity to hit on someone with the same last name as me.

Now I didn't actually do it, because god forbid, but I clearly had an opening. Like all openings, it began with squash. She was asking me about what activities I'm into at school, squash came up, she asked me who exactly it's played. It would have been so easy for me to just slip in a "I can show you sometime." However, I refrained. But god what if we're related. Even if we're not, which we're not, it would be so easy to just assume, amirite?

Life Review: Dreamgirls

Here's an old memory apropos of nothing:

I was on this date about a year and a half ago. We were going to see Pan's Labyrinth over at the Princess on King. We got there late and it was sold out. So in an attempt to salvage the evening we made a trek to the nearest multiplex to see what was playing.

I wasn't interested in seeing anything. She wanted to see Dreamgirls. I said no. She pleaded. I would not budge. Despite the fact that:

A) I like musicals; and

B) I like black people.

I would just not budge. I probably could have earned some points too.

Life Review: TTC

She Said,

"So you never take the TTC? You walk everywhere? What if you had to go to Scarborough? How would you get there? The bus to Scarborough. Would you finally take the bus then?"

Actual Response:

"Why would I ever need to go to Scarborough?"

Ideal Response:

"So when are you going to invite me to Scarborough?"

If only real life had mulligans.
